Our Math U See arrived last night. I reviewed the first few videos off the DVD and the teacher’s manual and this morning Satori viewed the video and then went to work in her Student’s book.

The Math U See curriculum starts with the Primer that introduces math in a fun way, all the way up through PreCalculus. In addition to addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, algebra, and geometry, it also covers time, money, Roman numerals, and measurement, etc. As I looked over the Primer book, it will be a good review and intro to the system for Satori, but not until lesson 9 will we be covering new materials. She already is familiar with 0-9 and her basic shapes, which the first 8 lessons go over. Not to worry, we’ll definitely be learning alot!

I shouldn’t have shown Satori the box, now she wants to play with the PINK blocks! But we’ll have to stick with the green (single blocks) for a few more weeks. :)

Like I suspected, she breezed through lesson 1, so we started lesson 2, where she starts to write her numerals (we learned that the written number is a numeral).

After  our math lesson, I started our “Inspiration Wire”, and we can’t wait to show off all our crafts and drawings! Right now it is looking a little bare. I put this in our entryway so Satori can really show off her art.
