The skin color is the closest, but my boys have very curly hair. I thought that if I bought the African American ones, too much brushing would seriously mess up the curls. They were pretty much the only boy doll I could find other than Waldorf dolls (excluding characters like Ken or Diego). I also was happy I could buy them a brown doll that sort of resembles them.
