I’ve been starting a read-aloud post on a few of the forums I frequent and am loving all the books everyone is reading aloud to their children! Usually someone always is curious and asks which books are appropriate for a 4-5 year old just starting out. It is a bit late now, but I hope to write a few articles to help people out. In the meantime, I will be keeping a running list of the books we read. Check up on the menu for the new tab menu – “Read-Alouds”. I’ll list each book we read, the dates we read it, and hopefully a short review on how Satori liked it.

Tonight we finished Wonderland, a comic book actually, about what happened behind the scenes of Alice and Wonderland, starring Mary Ann and the White Rabbit. Fascinating book, and I had fun doing all the voices and sound effects! The artwork was amazing, but the plot was confusing and strange, even for me, but then again, it is about Wonderland… Next up for tomorrow is Mr. Popper’s Penguins.

As you know, I only have one child, and she’s 4 going on 5, so although I would love to compile a great list of read-alouds for all ages, with our feedback on each one, realize that as I just start out, it will just be for the younger kids. :)
