Thank you so much for sharing this. I am an organizer but just couldn't bring myself to spend the $40 for a wooden box. I have thought about building my own but finding the time is another issue. I just ordered this one. There is a current 20% off code for The Container Store, WRe221, that is good until 8/8/10.

Yep, we couldn't fit all the red 100 blocks either, but it does fit all the 10's. It sounds like it's still the same block set and still the same container! I'm sure if you want an enormous tackle box you could get all of them in there, but it wouldn't be so easy to carry around. It's not that bad to store a few 100's on the shelf. Here's what I said on the original blog post written 10 months ago:

It very nicely holds ALL blocks except for 7 of the red 100′s blocks, but we rarely use those huge blocks anyway, much less all 10 (1000). We put them up on a shelf in our study room.

I bought this container and stowed the blocks away. Unfortunately, i don't know if they've changed their starter &/or completer sets, but i have way too many 100 blocks and 10's blocks to all fit in the tackle box. :O(

My oldest is in decimals book now and we keep the decimal pieces separate (as we did with the fractions)... but just wanted to say that our two full sets of regular blocks did NOT all fit.

I opted to only put 5 red 100's blocks in, stow away the other 5 reds we have, and keep all 30 of the 10's blocks in the tote.

Thanks everyone! Liz, right now we're still in Primer, so we haven't even purchased the decimal blocks and fractions, so I haven't researched a container to hold the rest of the manipulatives.

Pretty! Ours are in the boxes they came in. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets excited about MUS blocks, though. I made my son colored number flash cards that are the colors of the blocks so he can match them up.
