Love your blog! I have spent the past hour looking around at your creative ideas. I purchased the before the code books(get ready for the code book a, b, c) and I purchased explode the code book 1. I haven't received them yet as I live in South Africa but after seeing a post of yours at Mothering I'm sorta confused.

Does explode the code teach a child how to write their alphabets? Or is it mostly for reading?
My son needs to learn how to write his alphabets (he is 4 1/2) and struggles with his pencil grip. He hates to color and doesn't normally like any activities that involves using a pencil.
I was wondering if Handwriting without tears would be ok for us to use given the other books we are using(explode the code)? Also, what items do you suggest I purchase when buying my first set? What are the must haves that would give my son and I the best value for this handwriting program?

Also, I don't see a link to twitter or facebook? And I'd love to subsribe to your blog through e-mail but I don't see that option. I'm a bit "blind" though mentally haha so I'm assuming im just missing it somewhere.

Thank you so much for your time and your help!

Wow! She's doing a great job on her handwriting workbook. My son has gotten through 3 letter (F, E, D) at about 1 letter every week or 2. He didn't practice writing at all before we started the HWT so he's making progress. I didn't get the extra practice sheets. I'll probably have to do that once he starts wanting to write words.
