Karen,
We loved starting All About Spelling at age 4.5, so I would definitely suggest it. All About Spelling says children can start <a href="https://marierippel.infusionsoft.com/go/Readiness/satorismiles/" rel="nofollow">as soon as they're ready to learn to read</a>.

Congrats on your new Nikon! I would start out with that lens, you'll be able to get in standard shots. If you wanted a nice lens (but not professional), I'd get the 18-200mm VR lens. I just sold my 18-200mm lens as I am only using my professional lenses, but I really miss that one to get in the nice zoom shots.

A great book to start out, which is how many photographers learn is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Exposure-Photographs-Digital-Updated/dp/0817463003/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1262730516&sr=1-1" rel="nofollow">Understanding Exposure</a> by Bryan Peterson. There are also some good online tutorials, but I haven't used them.

I'm just finding you!! I am starting homeschooling my son full time this fall but have been using things for Kindergarten these past years- Explode the code, HWT,FIAR,etc.

I am jumping into FLL, Apologia, Artisitc Pursuits, Galloping the Globe, Singapore and MAth-U -See in the FAll. I used to teach JK at a Christian school and now am choosing to stay at home with the kids. Sally Clarkson's Mission of Motherhood really sucked me in along with TWTM.

Would you suggest All about Spelling at age 5??

Anyway, Like you I have always wanted to do good photography so I got a Nikon camera for Christmas this year- problem is I don't know anything about it-lol!! I have read the manual but don't know still how to blur backgrounds etc. appeture lingo-lol! I have a 18-55 lens that came with the kit would you recommend a different one?? I find it doesn't zoom very far ( example trying to get a good shot of my son on Stage while I'm in the pew)

HAppy New Year!

Hi. Just stumbled into your wonderful blog and have been inspired to delve into phtography. I would love to see more and learn about how YOU learned! :-)

I loved the idea of the container for the MUS manipulatives. I ordered one yesterday. Thanks!
