Hi, I love your blog. It's really motivated me and encouraged me to let my daughter just go on at her own pace and not hold her back. My question is at what age did Satori start OPG? My daughter is 3 yrs 9 months and over halfway through 100 EZ Ls and halfway through the Reading Lesson. I think we will finish 100 EZLs around mid-Jan, but not sure if I want to start OPG (at 40) or finish The Reading Lesson. Also, at what age did you switch from 4 days a wk to 5 days? Thanks!

Hi Angela, Thanks so much for your blog, it's beautiful and helpful. I wonder if you can comment on the differences between the Right Start math curriculum and the Math-U-See curriculum, especially for Kindergarten? I have a VERY active 4 1/2 year old, and am exploring options for next year.

Love this site. We kive in CO twenty minutes outside of Denver. My daughter will be 5 this month and she loves to read emergent readers and simple addition. She also loves to draw. Your daughter reminds me of my daughter so I may follow your lead. For Phonics I will continue with starfall.com and begin using the MECS program. For math I am considering either Singapor or Herizon. Leaning more twords Singapor. Writing will be on our own with writing paper. I want to get the paper where you have a space for pictures and then space for writing. I like the pen pal idea. We have lots of friends in CA that we can write. I wanted to teach more hands on, but she prefers workbooks and love the number line. She is not fond of counters, but will count pictures on a page. Go figure. I want to start Spanish I found a book for preschool and K. I also want to get a couple of books about science were we can do experiments and for history and such whatever we can find on the library shelves. Do you have any suggestions. She was in a Montessori school until she was almost 2 1/2. I lost her and now we are just breaking through with getting to reallly know eachother it took over 2 years of staying home to really reconnect. I think it took longer with me having a baby (2 1/2 years ago) and having a full home child care, but I don't want to lose that to sending her to an over crowded school that gives so much homework that there is no time to be together and the kids teaching her things that are not appropriate. It should be interesting doing homeschooling and child care. We just can't afford to have me stay home without a job. Anyway this is just what I was looking for a site that specifically is geared tword how to teach K in a homeschool. I have been so frustrated with all the suggestions for older children and the lack of support groups in our area...somethng I am still looking for. Anyone out there? All the ones I have found charge too much or are too far away. I think we will use CHESS when she turns 6, but they are an hour away. I like that they have Tuesday classes and I love the director of the program even though I have not met him he has been so helpful and encouraging.

Why, oh why, haven't I found your site previously? I have researched and researched on the WTM forums, and pretty much ended up deciding on everything you did! (My triplets are a year younger than Satori.) So I may just follow your lead going forward! :)
