Hmmmm… Keep in mind this is our first year and I’m still learning about everything. The Draw Write Now program we will definitely not be using. I don’t want my daughter to learn to draw from a cookie-cutter recipe and she doesn’t need the handwriting practice. So for us, I could probably sell my entire collection we never used. Drawing With Children on the other hand, really interests me, but it is a challenging thing to implement. I definitely want to give it another look this year! I love its methods, and hope both my daughter and I can get into it and learn from it this year.

I noticed that you dropped Drawing with Children and Draw Write Now. Did these programs not meet your expectations?

Karen: I’m not sure I responded to your RightStart question. If not, I recommend getting the Starter Kit. That’s what we did. The only extra thing I had to buy (which you might already have) was a bag of coins for $5. I forget which lesson we are on, but there may be a few other things we’ll need before we’re done with Level A, but many of these things people might already have, like a calculator.

Oops, I forgot to respond! We got the RightStart Starter Kit, and so far that’s all we’ve needed. Last week I did have to buy the coins for $5. Since this is our 3rd math program, I didn’t want to invest in it all until I was sure

I was considering MUS until I read your post and others about RS Math. I looked at their site and it looks like a great way to start out. What would you recommend to buy- the starter or deluxe set for level A?

I really find you site a big help. I am really excited about learning more.
